While today (Oct. 11) is the last day of regular registration for Illinois voters who want to participate in the Nov. 8 general election, Illinois election law does provide for “grace period registration” beyond today’s deadline.
This grace period allows a resident to register OR change an address after the traditional deadline date. Grace period registration begins Oct. 12 and runs through election day. Check with your local election authority for the local grace period registration and voting. You must show two forms of identification and actually cast your vote at the same time you register during the grace period.
