On Dec. 17, 2016, members of Three Rivers Association of REALTORS® (TRAR) participated in National Wreaths Across America Day at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, Ill.
As volunteers placed Remembrance Wreaths on veterans’ graves, they were encouraged to say each veterans’ name aloud, then take a moment to thank each for his or her service to our country as a small act toward keeping the memories of our veterans alive.
TRAR President Matt Persicketti said that although his group arrived early that day, they still waited in a mile long line of cars entering the cemetery. Even the horrible weather could not dampen the spirit of the massive crowd of volunteers that was on hand to pay tribute to our fallen heroes.
Wreath-laying ceremonies took place at well over 1,100 locations in all 50 states, at sea and at each of the national cemeteries on foreign soil. Find out more about Wreaths Across America. It’s one of example of numerous charitable activities that TRAR members are involved in during the year.
