Members of the Heartland REALTOR® Organization (HRO) of greater McHenry County, the REALTOR® Association of Northwestern Illinois (RANWIL) and the Rockford Area REALTORS® showed their community spirit in memorable ways during the COVID-19 pandemic.

As inspiration for their actions, the local associations drew from the RPAC Hearts for Healthcare Workers Challenge.

With every $20 donation to the REALTORS® Political Action Committee (RPAC) during the RPAC Hearts for Healthcare Workers Challenge, local associations received a specially branded candy bar from Illinois REALTORS®. HRO, RANWIL and Rockford leaders then developed plans for members to deliver treats at convenient times and places during June and July.

HRO delivered thank you cards and 10 chocolate bars to 12 groups:

  • Alden Terrace of McHenry,
  • Crossroads Care Center of Woodstock,
  • Crystal Pines Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center,
  • Crystal Lake Police Department,
  • Crystal Lake Police Department Dispatch Center,
  • The Fountains of Crystal Lake,
  • Hearthstone Manor,
  • JourneyCare Care Center,
  • McHenry Hospital,
  • McHenry Police Department,
  • McHenry Fire Department and
  • MercyHealth Crystal Lake South.

RANWIL delivered Longaberger baskets containing assorted chocolates, a thank you plaque, a towel, candy bars and cake pops (from a local deli in Freeport) to:

  • Freeport Health Network
  • Monroe Clinic and
  • VA Freeport Clinic.

Rockford donated candy bouquets made of RPAC candy bars, mints, Kit Kats and Peppermint Patties to three local nursing homes:

  • Heritage Woods
  • River Bluff Nursing Home and
  • Saint Anne’s.
