Members of the REALTOR® Association of Southwestern Illinois (RASI) used an online trivia night to raise more than $2,100 to help families in need through two area charities.

COVID-19 mitigations caused the local REALTORS® to rethink their usual holiday get-together, and their creativity led to, “It’s a Wonderful Trivia Night.” Members dressed up, decorated their homes, answered holiday questions, held a 50/50 raffle and sold mulligans to a future association golf outing. The event raised $2,177 that will be split between The Griffin Center in East St. Louis and the Community Interfaith Food Pantry in Belleville.

“Our members feel so strongly about the work these organizations do, and we know how many people these donations help each year,” said RASI President Celeste Wheeler. “With the added strain this year has placed on everyone, we know they will be serving more people than ever, and we were grateful to find a way to help.”

The local association will continue its efforts to help those in the Metro-East. Throughout 2020, the Association also helped the: REALTOR® Relief Fund, Heartlands Conservancy and Caritas Family Solutions.

RASI, with 1,002 members, is led by CEO Deb Frazier, President Celeste Wheeler, President-elect Karen Sheesley, Treasurer Sam Row and Immediate Past President Donna Baker.
