Illinois REALTORS® in the 12th Congressional District met with U.S. Rep. Mike Bost of Murphysboro on Tuesday in the latest of a series of Let’s Talk Real Estate events that have been held around the state this year.
Around 50 REALTORS® from Egyptian Board of REALTORS®, Greater Gateway Association of REALTORS® and the REALTOR® Association of Southwestern Illinois met with Bost in Belleville to share local real estate market information and talk about federal policy issues. Topics ranged from the Federal Housing Finance Agency and GSE reform, the National Flood Insurance Program, health insurance, tax reform and transportation.
Ayn Bartok, a Harrisburg REALTOR® and Federal Political Coordinator to Bost, facilitated the discussion with the congressman. Also present were Illinois REALTORS® Director of Grassroots and Political Programs Neil Malone and Ron Deedrick, local governmental affairs director for the region. A final Let’s Talk Real Estate event is being planned with U.S. Rep. Mike Quigley, of the 5th District, later this year.
