Social media privacy settings can be a safety issue for REALTORS®

REALTORS® can improve safety on the road, at the office, while visiting properties or meeting with potential clients by using resources provided by the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR). In many cases, REALTORS® who plan in advance can better prepare themselves for natural disasters, internet hackers and criminals.

The REALTOR® Safety Program offers more than 80 reminders like this one that can make a difference for members and their colleagues: “Regularly check privacy settings on your social media accounts, and make sure only approved contacts can see your posts and information. Keep separate personal and business accounts.”

Other safety tips provide ideas for open houses, fire safety, disaster planning and more. Visit this page for more details.
