The National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) has released it 2013 Profile of Homebuyers and Sellers and it offers an interesting look at the demographics of today’s buyers and sellers, what motivates them and how they navigate the process. Read the NAR news release for details but here are a few of NAR’s key findings:

  • 92 percent of buyers used the Internet in their home search.
  • 90 percent of buyers who used the Internet in their search ended up purchasing a home through a real estate agent.
  • The top reason for purchasing a home: a desire to own a home of their own.
  • 80 percent of recent home buyers say their home is a good investment.
