With 2021 being an important year for Illinois and the direction of housing policy, Illinois REALTORS® who have contributed to Illinois REALTORS® Political Action Committee (RPAC) should feel proud of their investment.
The generosity of more than 22,000 Illinois REALTORS® in 2020 will go a long way toward strengthening our industry, the housing market and property ownership rights in general.
RPAC has received more than $1.9 million in contributions to our united advocacy efforts, with 46 percent of our members participating! That includes investments made during the past month during our recent Mega Raffle.
But the strength of RPAC not only comes from sheer numbers but from more than 650 Major Investors. Kudos!
In the past, REALTOR® investments in RPAC have preserved property rights by defeating harmful proposals for:
- A new service tax on commissions
- A 10 percent tax on real estate advertising and
- $200 business registration fees for every real estate license.
