Jayme Ahlden Fay, Ahmed Badat and the late Gary Broughton will be among local Illinois association REALTORS® of the Year (ROTY) honored March 28 at the 2022 REALTOR® of the Year Banquet in Springfield.

The ROTY award recognizes members who have done exceptional work to advance their association and the real estate industry.

Ahlden Fay is the ROTY for the Champaign County Association of REALTORS® (CCAR) and is a broker for RE/MAX Realty Associates in Champaign. During her real estate career, she has served on the CCAR Board of Directors and numerous CCAR committees, including chair of the Governmental Affairs Committee and chair of the Young Professionals Network. She was instrumental in CCAR’s five consecutive Triple Crown Awards.

Badat is the ROTY for the Northern Illinois Commercial Association of REALTORS® (NICAR) and was 2021 chair of NICAR’s Commercial Global Network. He is a community thought leader in commercial real estate development and is the National Association of REALTORS Global Ambassador to South Africa, Ghana and Nigeria, winning NAR’s prestigious 2021 Global Ambassador of the Year Award.

Broughton was posthumously honored as the ROTY for the Quincy Association of REALTORS® and was the broker-owner of the Century 21 Broughton Team. He was a previous local ROTY, president of the Quincy association, a member of its board of directors and served on many of its committees, too. He died in April 2021.

Ahlden Fay and Badat will join Illinois REALTOR® of the Year Ed Neaves, managing broker of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Central Illinois REALTORS® in Bloomington, at the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Museum for this special event. A reception begins at 6:30 p.m., followed by dinner and program at 7:15 p.m.
