The Rockford Area REALTORS®, REALTORS® Association of Northwestern Illinois (RANI) and Illinois REALTORS® announced that $25,000 in grant assistance is available for May flood victims in Stephenson and Winnebago counties.

Those seeking assistance may apply online through the Illinois REALTORS® Relief Foundation. Applicants can request up to $500 in grant support that can be used to cover the cost of a monthly mortgage expense, rental fees for temporary shelter and unreimbursed losses directly related to the disaster such as an insurance deductible. Aid is provided on a first-come, first-served basis. Applicants are highly encouraged to apply before the Sept. 30, 2019 deadline.

“REALTORS® help buy and sell homes, but we are much more,” said Ginger Sreenan, RANI chief executive officer. “When a natural disaster impacts our community, we stand ready to help homeowners and renters rebuild their investment.”

“REALTORS® live, work and volunteer in their communities, and they take pride in working to revitalize and improve them,” said Conor Brown, Rockford Area REALTORS® chief executive officer. “Local REALTORS® encourage victims to apply for assistance, and we are here to help them through the grant process.”

Those who have questions or need help completing the application can contact Illinois REALTORS® Local Government Affairs Director Neeley Erickson at 815-395-6751 or [email protected].
