Assistant House Republican Leader Norine Hammond of Macomb has received independent expenditure and opportunity race support from Illinois REALTORS® for the March 20 general primary.
Registered voters in the 93rd District for the Illinois House of Representatives received mailers and viewed social media ads supporting Hammond. The mailers and electronic advertising come from Illinois REALTORS® as part of an independent expenditure campaign. Independent expenditure activities support a candidate for public office without any coordination with the candidate or the candidate’s campaign.
Also, the Illinois REALTORS® Political Action Committee (RPAC) trustees are urging members in the 93rd District to vote for Hammond. Her record of supporting business, economic growth, private property rights and low taxes makes her a REALTOR® champion. For those reasons, her reelection bid is considered an opportunity race, too.

Hammond is facing Joshua Griffith in the Republican primary. John Curtis is unopposed in the Democratic primary. Party winners will face off in the Nov. 6 general election.
Learn more about Hammond at her website. She has served voters in her district since January 2010 when she took over the vacant seat of Rep. Rich Myers who died in office. She was re-elected in 2012, 2014 and 2016. The 93rd District includes more than 100,000 people and the communities of Macomb, Havana, Rushville and Beardstown.
Before serving as representative of the 93rd District, Hammond worked as a legislative aide for Rep. Myers for 14 years. Prior to that, she served as a trustee of Emmet Township and as Emmet Township Supervisor from 2006 to 2011.
