Illinois REALTORS® who want to vote in the consolidated primary on Feb. 26 and the consolidated elections April 2 can consult the Illinois State Board of Elections website for information that can help.

The site offers voter registration lookup information, calendars with key dates for topics like early voting, links to local election authorities and plenty more, such as the State of Illinois’ 2019 Local Officials Election Handbook.

For example, the handbook explains how villages can participate in partisan or non-partisan primary elections for municipal offices, while larger communities have partisan primaries for: mayors, aldermen, council members, treasurers and clerks. Ballots in the coming months could include other local candidates running for park district, public library, public school and community college board positions as well as trustees for the local fire protection district. Find out more in the handbook.

REALTORS® understand the impact that local, state and national leaders can have on the rights of property owners and the real estate industry, and that’s why they work to protect those rights in their communities.
