REALTORS® gathered with four congressional representatives this week in Illinois at separate “Let’s Talk Real Estate” events.

In each instance, the U.S. representatives, their Illinois REALTORS® Federal Political Coordinators (FPCs), local governmental affairs directors and Illinois REALTORS® Director of Grassroots and Political Programs Neil Malone gathered with local REALTORS® to discuss current issues affecting private property owners and REALTORS®. Topics included: the National Flood Insurance Program, the Federal Housing Finance Agency, Government Sponsored Enterprises, health insurance, tax reform and the Qualified Business Income Deduction.

Sessions included:

  • Monday in St. Charles, U.S. Rep. Lauren Underwood and facilitator/FPC Matt Persicketti;
  • Tuesday in Orland Park, U.S. Rep. Dan Lipinski and facilitator/FPC John Kmiecik;
  • Thursday in Oak Park, U.S. Rep. Danny Davis and facilitator/FPC Tracey Williams; and
  • Today in West Chicago, U.S. Rep. Sean Casten and facilitator/FPC Carrie Little.

On April 18, in the first “Let’s Talk Real Estate” event, U.S. Rep. Jesús “Chuy” Garcia and FPC Sonia Anaya led the dialogue.

On May 14, U.S. Senators Dick Durbin and Tammy Duckworth will host REALTORS® for a “Let’s Talk Real Estate” event in Washington, D.C. The meeting coincides with the REALTORS® Legislative Meetings & Trade Expo, May 14-18.
