COVID-19 changed but didn’t stop the way the Mainstreet Organization of REALTORS® (MORe) showed its support for those in need this holiday season.

“We are thrilled to be partnering again with the Salvation Army this holiday season,” said MORe CEO John Gormley. “Logistically, with the pandemic, how Mainstreet REALTORS® are giving looks a little different this year. What does remain the same is our commitment to the Salvation Army and the communities they support through housing, curing hunger, empowering youth and helping disaster survivors.

“To increase our support, we launched a virtual kettle campaign and encouraged all Mainstreet committee members to participate and share,” he said. “Although numbers are still coming in, it looks like we will raise around $2,000 between our virtual campaign and members ringing the red iconic bells outside of stores like Jewel-Osco and Mariano’s.”

About 70 members participated in the campaign in cooperation with the Salvation Army Metropolitan Division in Chicago, said Gormley.

MORe is led by Gormley, President Linda Dressler of RE/MAX Suburban in Schaumburg, President-elect John LeTourneau of Keller Williams Infinity in Naperville, Treasurer Debbie Palowicz of DPG RE Corp. of Lisle and Immediate Past President Brian Kwilosz of Exit Realty Partners in Downers Grove. MORe serves more than 18,000 members in more than 200 municipalities in DuPage County, Lake County and the western and southern suburban sections of Cook County.
