Illinois REALTORS® began the process of building a house for Habitat for Humanity on Murphysboro over the weekend, a process that will extend through April.

The build, located at 1914 Clarke St., Murphysboro, Ill., enjoyed a few days of spring-like weather which allowed the volunteer crew to get the walls up on the project. (Hat tip to Charay Brewer, association executive with the Egyptian Board of REALTORS®, for the pictures.)

This week volunteers will tackle siding and roofing. The full details of the build are here.

There’s still plenty of slots for volunteers. To sign up to participate, go here, where you can find details, a release form to work on the site and sign up to take part in the effort.

The Murphysboro home is one of three being built by Illinois REALTORS® this year as part of a move to show the Power of R. Phil Chiles, president of the Illinois Association of REALTORS®, launched the initiative in October, 2013. Other homes are slated for Springfield and Aurora.
