Mokena-area REALTOR® Yvette Jones-Swanson was named one of five NAR Volunteering Works Grant and Mentoring recipients for 2022.

The five recipients will receive a $1,000 seed grant and a year of one-on-one mentoring from a member of the NAR Good Neighbor Society. This group is made up of past recipients of NAR’s annual Good Neighbor Awards, the highest honor the association awards to REALTORS® involved in community service.

Jones-Swanson, of Real People Realty, laid the groundwork for the founding of “100 Pretty Purses for Female Veterans,” a nonprofit organization that provides gift cards, toiletries and other gifts to women who served our country but find themselves in challenging situations. This year, the organization held its eighth annual Christmas event, but Jones-Swanson actually developed the idea on her own many years earlier.
