In today’s podcast, Local Governmental Affairs Director (GAD) Katherine Bezares recounts her first experience helping disaster victims through the Illinois REALTORS® Relief Foundation (IRRF), while Vice President Operations Cathy Madaus and Assistant Operations Manager Brandi Moore summarize what has been accomplished in 2022 so far.

The foundation was established less than a decade ago to provide financial assistance to Illinoisans whose homes are damaged or made uninhabitable by disaster. During 2022, the IRRF helped flood victims near Freeport and in southwestern Illinois, as well as victims of a natural gas explosion in Chicago’s Austin neighborhood.

When disasters are declared in Illinois, GADs and local REALTOR® associations provide victims information about the IRRF online application.

But REALTORS® from any part of the state can support the mission of the IRRF by making tax-free donations to the 501(c)(3) organization.
