REALTORS® learned about the prevalence and impact of discriminatory appraisals during the Business Issues Forum at Illinois REALTORS® 2021 Fall Business Meetings in Naperville. Discriminatory Appraisals Task Force Chair Lutalo McGee, researcher Dr. Marshall Jean and Better.com Chief Valuation Officer Jillian White participated in the panel, moderated by Business Issues Forum Chair Sarah Ware and Vice Chair Brian Kwilosz.
In addition to revealing a wealth of research and data, the panelists also talked about their respective experience, and McGee proposed ways in which the task force and individual members could address the issue of discriminatory appraisals going forward.
