Illinois residents who want to participate in the March 17 general primary election can register online through the Illinois State Board of Elections (ISBE) website, but they must do so by the end of the day March 1.

Residents can use the Voter Registration Lookup to see if they are already registered to vote.

The ISBE offers numerous helpful resources for citizens to use, including a sample ballot, instructions for early voting, grace period registration and voting, and a feature that helps you locate the election authority in your county or city.

The general election is scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 3.
