Illinois REALTORS® leadership took part in the Chicago Association of REALTORS® Industry Partners meeting on Wednesday, underscoring the emphasis the statewide organization places on promoting diversity in the real estate industry.

The meetings include representatives from organizations including the Dearborn Realtist Board, the National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals, the Asian Real Estate Association of America, the National Association of Gay and Lesbian Real Estate Professionals, Women’s Council of REALTORS and Real Estate to the Rescue.

Illinois REALTORS® President-elect Ed Neaves noted that the industry was always better when it shares a common vision for inclusiveness.

“Illinois REALTORS® truly is committed to a shared goal of making sure our organization represents all of the real estate industry, not just portions of the real estate industry,” Neaves said.

Neaves was joined by Illinois REALTORS® Treasurer Sue Miller, Immediate Past-President Matt Difanis and association Executive Vice President Kristen Butcher.

Neaves also noted Jakeeva Lee’s efforts to build relationships between the state association, the Chicago Association of REALTORS® and the many groups in attendance.

The Industry Partners serves as an umbrella organization which provides shared training and networking. Speaking to the group on Wednesday were Dr. Talaya Waller on building a personal brand, and Jackie Osafo, an association executive who discussed achieving the balance between personal and professional life.
