The National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) announced 2023 election results following its board of directors meeting, choosing four members of the Leadership Team and 13 regional vice presidents.
Included in those results was the selection of REALTOR® Ed Neaves, designated managing broker of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Central Illinois Realtors® in Bloomington as the NAR Region 7 Vice President.
Neaves has been active in all three levels of the REALTOR® associations during his 26-year real estate career. He is a longtime member of the NAR Board of Directors and the State and Local Issues Mobilization Support Committee, and he’s served repeated terms on the REALTOR® Party Member Involvement Committee.
With Illinois REALTORS®, he served as president in 2020 and was named REALTOR® of the Year in 2022. He also served on a variety of state committees. He is a longtime member of the Illinois REALTORS® Board of Directors and is the chair of the association’s 2022 Audit Committee, vice chair of the Nominating Committee and is a member of the Advisory Council and Performance/Compensation Review Committee. He has chaired the Illinois REALTORS® Political Involvement Committee, the Federal Political Coordinators Working Group and the Major Investors Working Group.
His advocacy also extends to being a REALTOR® resource to elected officials. He is the State Legislative Contact for state Sen. Jason Barickman (R-Bloomington) and the Federal Political Coordinator for U.S. Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R-16th District).
He is among an elite group of REALTORS® nationwide inducted into the REALTORS® Political Action Committee (RPAC) Hall of Fame for lifetime contributions of at least $25,000. He was honored for his political leadership with the 2015 Illinois REALTORS® Political Involvement Award.
He has served in leadership positions of his local association, the Mid-Illinois REALTORS®, including president in 2017, local REALTOR® of the Year in 2020 and in 2011. In 2016, he received his local association’s Hall of Fame Lifetime Achievement Award.
