Chicago-area REALTOR® Frank Williams was celebrated today as a National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) 2023 Fair Housing Champion Award recipient at the REALTOR® Legislative Meetings in Washington, D.C. The award honors REALTOR® members who have gone above and beyond to advance fair housing and expand homeownership in underserved communities.

Williams, of F.J. Williams Realty, LLC in Evergreen Park, has been a REALTOR® for more than 50 years, and continues to be an advocate for fair housing in Chicago.

Williams started his real estate career in 1971, opening his own brokerage in the Beverly neighborhood. He was accused of “block busting,” faced verbal and physical assaults from protesters and a bomb was detonated on his front porch. His mission was to help everyone attain the American dream of homeownership.

In 1989, he became the second Black president of the Chicago Association of REALTORS®. Also, he served as president of the Dearborn REALTIST® Board and president of the Southside Chicago Branch of the NAACP.
