With Illinois’ 2020 general primary election scheduled for Tuesday, March 17, the deadlines for using some alternate voting options are almost here as well.

Monday is the last day for early voting at the office of the election authority as well as permanent locations designated by the election authority. Some temporary early voting locations may be open, though they are not required to be open, according to the Illinois State Board of Elections’ (ISBE) calendar.

Also, Monday is the last day that voters can request a vote-by-mail ballot in person. It’s also the last day for temporarily or permanently physically disabled voters to request curbside voting.

To verify your local election authority, use the ISBE’s jurisdiction finder. Use the link to your local election authority to see a sample ballot.

Following Gov. J.B. Pritzker’s announcement about school closings to prevent the spread of the corona virus (COVID-19) on Friday afternoon, voters can check for updates of the situation through the Illinois Department of Public Health.
