Peoria-area REALTOR® Michael Maloof has reached the REALTOR® Political Action Committee (RPAC) Hall of Fame.

“RPAC is an integral component of operating my business,” says Maloof, president of Jim Maloof Realty, Inc., in Peoria. “Within our system of operating in the state of Illinois, there are many opportunities for legislation to get in the way of what we try to do, to affect what we try to do or to affect our clients and what they are trying to do in private home ownership. RPAC is the watchdog for our business.”

Maloof became very involved with the Peoria Area Association of REALTORS® (PAAR), serving on numerous committees and later becoming president of the local association. He’s also served on numerous committees with Illinois REALTORS®.

He was one of nine Illinois REALTORS® honored during a virtual ceremony April 23. He and seven of his colleagues qualified for Hall of Fame induction by the end of 2019 after reaching $25,000 in lifetime aggregate investments during their careers.

He was a Sterling R investor in 2019. He’s been a Major Investor for 16 years and a member of President’s Circle three years.

Other inductees included:

  • Deborah Ahrens, a broker for Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Elite Properties in Edwardsville and Dolan Realtors in Union, Mo.
  • Nicholas H. Apostal, a broker for Keller Williams Chicago-Lincoln Park;
  • Matthew Farrell, managing partner and designated managing broker for Urban Real Estate in Chicago;
  • Dallas Hancock, retired CEO Peoria Area Association of REALTORS®;
  • Mark Massey, broker for Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Elite Properties in Edwardsville;
  • Georgia Pierini, broker for Baird & Warner Residential Sales in Glenview; and

In addition, an Illinois member of the RPAC Hall of Fame reached the $50,000 milestone in lifetime aggregate investments: Greg St. Aubin, senior vice president of governmental affairs, Illinois REALTORS®.

Illinois REALTORS® annually recognizes new inductees in Springfield before they are officially inducted into the National Association of REALTORS® RPAC Hall of Fame in Washington, D.C. The names of all nine REALTORS® will be placed on the Hall of Fame Wall at the Illinois REALTORS® headquarters and the national ceremony will be scheduled in the future.
