The Lamoine Valley REALTORS® donated $1,500 to help disadvantaged students in the Macomb area in December, and helped the Salvation Army raise more than $8,000 in donations in late November.
On Dec. 9, Lamoine Valley, a chapter of the Peoria Area Association of REALTORS® (PAAR), presented its donation to Lincoln Elementary School Principal Kim Gillam. Lincoln is a K-3 school in Macomb. Local REALTORS® and affiliate members raised the money as part of the Boots for Kids drive. The funds were used to purchase boots or coats for disadvantaged students at Lincoln School.
This is the third year the Lamoine chapter has helped needy kids keep warm in the wintertime.
Additionally, Lamoine Valley REALTORS® rang bells for the area Salvation Army Nov. 26 to raise more than $8,000 in donations. Bell ringers in the entire city of Macomb raised a total of $13,000 that day areawide for the Salvation Army. The national Salvation Army matched the city totals raised for a total of $23,000 in fund totals for the Macomb area.
Twenty-five PAAR turkey drive gift certificates were also donated to the Salvation Army food pantry in Macomb as part of the Peoria Area Association of REALTORS® 30th Annual Turkey Drive.
