John C. Kmiecik, CRB of Chicago was named the 2010 Illinois REALTOR® of the Year. He will be honored at the IAR REALTOR® of the Year banquet on March 24th at the Hilton Hotel in Springfield.

The REALTOR® of the Year award is presented to the one member of the Illinois Association of REALTORS® who best exemplifies the professional qualities of a REALTOR®. The award recognizes leadership and service in the REALTOR® Association as well as civic, community and charitable causes.

Kmiecik is broker-owner of Century 21 Kmiecik REALTORS® in Chicago. He is past president of the Chicago Association of REALTORS® and in 2004 served as president of the Illinois Association of REALTORS®. He was named REALTOR® of the Year for the Chicago Association of REALTORS® in 1997.

He has given considerable time and expertise to issues related to professional standards, leadership development, legislative advocacy and the REALTORS® Political Action Committee. He has served twice as chair of the IAR RPAC Trustees as well as a two-year term as chair of the Major Donor Working Group. He is a member of the National Association of REALTORS® RPAC Hall of Fame.

In 2010, he chairs the IAR Leadership Development Working Group and serves as a Federal Political Coordinator and as a member of the IAR Advisory Council and Major Donor Working Group. For the National Association of REALTORS® he serves as a member of the Board of Directors and RPAC Trustees Committee.
