More Illinois homes sold and at higher prices in 2021 compared to the year before. Statewide sales were up 11.8 percent compared to 2020, while available inventory at the end of 2021 fell to a new record low. The annual median price continued to trend higher, climbing to $250,000 and listings moved quickly, averaging about a month on the market before sale, according to the Illinois REALTORS® 2021 Annual Report.
