REALTOR® Paul Wells of RE/MAX Barrington and Midwest Real Estate Data President and CEO Rebecca Jensen were elected to the first National Portal Board of Managers, according to an announcement by brokerpublicportal.com.
Wells was one of three managers selected to represent small firms, while Jensen is one of four to represent multiple listing services (MLSs). The project was launched to help brokerages and MLSs to retain control over their listings.

WAV Group project consultant, Victor Lund says MLSs have long provided consumer-facing regional property search websites. In December of 2014, a group of like-minded MLSs and real estate brokerages met to discuss the opportunity to build a consumer-facing national MLS website to fill an unmet need in the online marketplace. At the first meeting of the organizers, they elected the board of managers that will be included in their corporate filings as a Delaware LLC.
The announcement originated out of Arroyo Grande, CA, today, by brokerpublicportal.com, a nationwide group of 37 leading MLSs and 39 real estate brokerage firms. They represent the interests of nearly 830K agents.
