With less than two weeks until Illinois consolidated elections take place on April 2, voters can still request vote-by-mail ballots.

Registered voters can verify their local election authority through the Illinois State Board of Elections website. Requests for vote-by-mail ballots can be made in person or online.

Voters must fill out and submit applications at least five days before the election. Applications require the voter’s name, home address and signature. Paper vote-by-mail ballots must be completed, signed and placed in a sealed certification envelope that’s provided. The envelope must be postmarked no later than election day, and it must be received within 14 days of the election.
