Illinois REALTORS® wants to thank member Michael D. Oldenettel for serving as the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) Region 7 Vice President. Region 7 includes Illinois, Indiana and Wisconsin.

Oldenettel, of Jacksonville, is a managing broker with The Real Estate Group Inc. in Springfield. He will participate in his leadership role of Region 7 VP at the REALTORS® Conference & Expo this week in San Diego.

In October, Oldenettel was honored by 2021 Illinois REALTORS® President Sue Miller with a Presidential Medallion for his service to Region 7 over the last year at the national level and for his tireless dedication to the REALTOR® organization at all levels. Outgoing presidents annually award the medallions to people who make significant contributions to the association and the real estate industry.

Oldenettel has had many accomplishments during his regional leadership, but one that stands out his success in rallying Region 7 REALTORS® to raise more than $450,000 for the REALTORS® Relief Foundation in 2021. The REALTORS® Relief Foundation offers critical support to communities after natural disasters.

Oldenettel has a long history of stepping up for service. He was the 2013 Illinois REALTORS® president and the 2018 Illinois REALTOR® of the Year. He chaired the Illinois REALTORS® Professional Standards, Strategic Planning and Finance committees. He has served on the Illinois REALTORS® Board of Directors, as a dean of the REALTOR® Institute and as president of the Illinois Real Estate Educational Foundation (REEF).

He’s served on the National Association of REALTORS® Board of Directors and has served multiple terms as president of his local association, most recently as the 2022 President of Capital Area REALTORS®. He is a member of the Illinois Real Estate Administration and Disciplinary Board. He is a Golden R President’s Circle and RPAC Hall of Fame member, too.
