Illinois REALTORS® gather before a rainy day run on Saturday, Nov. 3, 2018, at Boston Common. They took part in a 5K event benefiting REALTOR® Relief Foundation.

More than two dozen Illinois REALTORS® braved torrential downpours in Boston on Saturday to take part in the REALTORS® Relief Run.

The 5K event started and ended at Boston Common. Illinois REALTORS® taking part met at a nearby coffee shop where they did what they could to prepare for the rain and take team pictures.

After a short soggy walk to Boston Common, runners huddled in a underground parking garage until the start. The rain mostly abated for the run, then started again with a vengeance as runners headed for the buses to downtown hotels.

The event benefits NAR’s REALTOR® Relief Foundation, which helps provide assistance in the wake of disasters.

“We are out here in the rain for REALTOR® Relief Foundation, and REALTORS® are always there to help,” said Marsha Collins-Mroz. “We’re donating to the cause because that is what REALTORS® do.”
