Southern Illinoisans whose homes have been damaged by April storms and flooding can apply for up to $500 in mortgage or rental assistance and unreimbursed losses directly related to the disasters (e.g. insurance deductible, home-related not covered by insurance) from the Illinois REALTORS® Relief Foundation (IRRF), which announced a total of $25,000 available.

On April 2, storms hit Southern Illinois bringing heavy rainfall totaling as much as 10 inches in some areas and causing flash flooding. Urban flooding has caused damage in the communities of Salem and Centralia and additional areas are on alert for potential flooding as streams, creeks, smaller tributaries and the Mississippi and Ohio rivers are being monitored for rising water levels.

Only one application is permitted per household. Get the application at: https://www.illinoisrealtors.org/about/foundations/irrf/
