It was an RPAC marathon at Public Policy Meetings Tuesday in East Peoria for REALTOR® volunteers and local association leadership involved in fundraising for the REALTORS® Political Action Committee (RPAC).

For the second year in a row, Illinois achieved the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) President’s Cup in 2018. To attain this, Illinois REALTORS® met or surpassed nine RPAC fundraising and advocacy goals set by NAR, including:

  • 20 percent participation in Calls for Action
  • 37 percent participation in RPAC by members of the association
  • 439 Major Investors, investing at least $1,000 in RPAC
  • $1,575,000 RPAC dollars raised
  • 44 members of the President’s Cup

Ultimately, Illinois achieved 21.5 percent participation in Calls for Action, 39 percent RPAC participation, 610 Major Investors while raising more than $1.65 million dollars. RPAC dollars support candidates for public office who support issues important to homeowners and private property owners.

“We are the champions, you are the leaders who made this happen,” said Matt Difanis, Immediate Past President of the Illinois REALTORS® in his remarks from the podium at the RPAC Awards & Recognition Ceremony. He thanked RPAC and Advocacy committee chairs for Illinois and NAR as well as local associations and individual investors involved in the success of the past year.

The day also included a strategic planning session where local associations worked in their small groups to set goals related to the REALTOR® Party mantra, “Vote-Act-Invest,” including RPAC fundraising for 2019. And the day was capped by the annual Illinois REALTORS® RPAC Auction to jump-start the fundraising year.
