IAR REALTORS® Political Involvement Committee met today in St. Charles, Ill.
Members of the REALTORS® Political Involvement Committee kicked off two days of meetings in St. Charles, Ill., with members of the committee hearing that Illinois is setting the pace when it comes to participation in a key advocacy program.
The Broker Involvement Program boasts 5,473 members, which is ahead of other states such as California and Texas.
Among other business:
- State Calls to Action garnered thousands of responses on issues ranging from watershed management to fire sprinkler issues. A Call to Action to rally REALTORS® against a proposal considered by the Cook County Metropolitan Water Reclamation District yielded 4,608 responses.
- A new webpage has been established to highlight the State Legislative Contacts and provide links to resources useful to members interested in advocacy issues. State Legislative Contacts are volunteer REALTORS® who stay in touch with state lawmakers throughout the year.
