The Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation’s (IDFPR) Division of Real Estate has issued guidance to real estate professionals in light of the COVID-19 pandemic and Governor Pritzker’s extended Stay at Home executive order. The information contained in the Division of Real Estate’s guidance document is consistent with that provided by Illinois REALTORS® to date.
Included on IDFPR COVID-19 web site, there is an essential businesses and operations guidance for real estate licensees that includes:
- How the executive orders affect professional real estate services
- Real estate contracts with a closing date within the term of the Stay at Home order
- Best practices to continue the essential real estate broker services.
- There is additional guidance relating to home inspectors, community association managers and auctioneers as well.
Finally, IDFPR, with the support of the industry, collaborated with Illinois Secretary of State to temporarily allow Illinois notaries the authority to perform remote, online notarizations at this time.
