The effects of a European Union (EU) rule that aims to strengthen data privacy and security will be far-reaching, having implications for how businesses across the world—including U.S. real estate brokerages—collect and manage customer information.

This article and video from NAR gives guidelines on how to comply with the  General Data Privacy Regulations (GDPR). These new data security rules went into effect May 25, 2018 for any company that deals with or “touches” residents of the EU.
