REALTORS® who aim to help military veterans secure affordable home loans have only a matter of days left to use the Welcome Home Heroes program offered by the Illinois Housing Development Authority.
According to IHDA Marketing Coordinator Maxwell Mueller, the program is tentatively scheduled to close at 5 p.m. on Feb. 13. However, if the number of loan applications is higher than anticipated during the next week, the IHDA may close the program sooner.
“IHDA’s remaining catalog of homeownership programs will continue to be available, offering down payment assistance, competitive interest rates and significant tax savings for homebuyers throughout Illinois,” said Mueller, who added that several changes will be made to the IHDA’s catalog of homeownership programs in the next few weeks.
“REALTORS® have been valued partners in making the Welcome Home Heroes program a success, providing critical financial support to the men and women who have honorably served in our armed forces. To date, more than $265 million in loans were made to over 2,100 military families.”
