The Greater Gateway Association of REALTORS® held a golf outing on Thursday, June 2, 2015, to benefit the Richard “Dick” Wiegers Scholarship. Pictured, left to right, are REEF’s Laurie Clayton, chair, Chris Seniker, Jeff Wiegers, Betty Jo Wiegers, Association Executive Rob Wigton and co-chair Justin Huenke.
Members of the Greater Gateway Association of REALTORS® are golfing for a good cause today, as they tee off to raise money for a scholarship which honors a longtime developer.
The Richard “Dick” Wiegers scholarship was established to help worthy candidates defray costs of attending an undergraduate degree in the fields of law, business or finance, or a graduate program in business.
The up to $1,000 scholarship is awarded annually, and is administered through the Illinois Real Estate Educational Foundation.
Wiegers, who died in 2003, built more than 1,000 homes in the Greater Gateway association’s area, and was well known for his support of the real estate industry. He was the association’s president and later REALTOR® of the Year in 1990.
