First State Capitol Report of 2019 flags rent control bills and outlines key dates in General Assembly

Illinois REALTORS® lobbyists knew rent control would be a hot topic for the 101st General Assembly, and they got proof just a few hours after legislators were sworn in.

Two 2018 bills that had been introduced separately in the House and Senate — and strongly opposed by the association — were reintroduced, according to the Jan. 11 edition of the State Capitol Report.

In addition to insights regarding these rent control bills, the State Capitol Report provides insights into the leadership in Springfield and outlines key dates for the legislature during the next several months.
