Illinois REALTORS® discuss issues affecting the real estate industry at a roundtable discussion held in East Peoria as part of the Illinois REALTORS® Public Policy Meetings.

Nearly 90 Illinois REALTORS® gathered on Wednesday to discuss issues affecting the real estate industry in a roundtable session held as part of the association’s ongoing effort to get more member feedback.

The session was the first meeting of the Public Policy and Program Working Group Roundtable, which covered a variety of topics ranging from preferences in education to the role teams are playing in real estate. The meeting was part of the Public Policy Meetings held by the association each year in East Peoria.

“The decisions we make are largely informed by our members,’ said Illinois REALTORS® Deputy CEO Jeff Baker. “We collect input and factor that information into designing programs and setting policy.”

Facilitating the session was Sue Miller, the association’s president-elect. “This is a very large focus group,” she said.

The roundtables are planned for future Illinois REALTORS® meetings. As Baker noted, the roundtable approach is more approachable for many members, and allows anyone to join in and provide feedback and ideas.
