Registered Illinois voters who want to use early voting privileges for the November general election can find out the location of special permanent polling places through the Illinois State Board of Elections website.
Monday was the first day these polling places could be set up in a location different from the election authorities. These polls are to be open on holidays, Saturdays and Sundays. Find out the hours your polling place is open, too.
Vote by mail ballots for hospitalized voters
Also, today is the first day qualified voters who have been admitted to a hospital, nursing home or rehabilitation center not more than 14 days before the Nov. 8 election can apply for vote by mail ballots from their election authorities. This voting provision is available through election day if the process can be completed before 7 p.m. that day.
