Tuesday was a jam-packed day of valuable learning experiences at the Illinois REALTORS®’ Fall Business Meetings in Oak Brook as members attended a variety of open sessions and closed committee meetings.

Keynote speaker Mike Staver presented “Leading in Tough Times,” and explained how true leaders confront hard realities, take responsibility and get meaningful results.

In the breakout session, “Boundaries, Balance & Well-being,” Pam Ermen shared her ideas for responding to stressful and challenging situations.

Monica Neubauer, host of NAR’s Center for REALTOR® Development Podcast, explained how REALTORS® can effectively and responsibly use artificial intelligence to improve client experiences in the session, “A.I. Communication: Improving Customer Service.”

The Business Issues Forum, “Addressing the ‘Missing Middle’ of Housing Inventory,” focused on examples of successful urban planning projects designed by Opticos Design, Inc., of Berkley, Calif. The projects helped revitalize urban areas, increased housing supply and improved quality of life, according to Jennifer Settle, senior associate, Opticos.

Director of Professional Standards Becky Carraher and Ethics and Legal Services Manager Mindie Nesch led members through an analysis of several hypothetical Code of Ethics complaints during a Professional Standards Interactive session.

During the “Illinois REALTORS® Trade Show with Lunch,” attendees learned about ways that the association identifies and addresses their needs. Information was organized in categories of advocacy, education, ethics legal and member outreach.

Tonight, at the Inaugural Gala and REEF Benefit, 2024 Illinois REALTORS® President Matt Silver will be installed, along with 2024 President-elect Tommy Choi, 2024 Treasurer Jeff Kolbus and the incoming 2024 committee members.
