Illinois REALTORS® has identified a number of political candidates who have been selected to receive political support in the form of RPAC campaign contributions.

The candidates are facing contests in the General Primary Election on March 17, and include both newcomers and incumbents who have shown they understand REALTOR® issues and the need to protect private property rights.

RPAC support selections are made by a board of trustees who assess candidates for their stance on REALTOR® issues.

Two of the candidates supported this election cycle are REALTORS® Yoni Pizer of Chicago, was recently appointed as state representative in the 12th District. He is running in a contested primary. REALTOR® Laura Curtis, of North Aurora, is seeking the District 49 seat in the Illinois House. She currently serves as a North Aurora village trustee.

Among others receiving support through RPAC for state Senate races are:

  • Sen. Tony Munoz, D-Chicago, incumbent, Dist. 1
  • Sen. Robert Martwick Jr., D-Chicago, incumbent, Dist. 10
  • Sen. Cristina Castro, D-Elgin, incumbent, Dist. 22
  • Sen. Patrick Joyce, D-Park Forest, incumbent, Dist. 40

Additionally, some candidates who are not incumbents but who are seeking state Senate seats are:

  • Beth Goncher, a Republican from Aurora, seeking the 25th Senate District seat
  • Rep. John Connor, who is a state representative, D-Crest Hill, seeking the 43rd Senate District seat
  • Rep. Darren Bailey, who is a Republican state representative from Louisville, seeking the 55th Senate District seat.
  • Rep. Terri Bryant, a Republican state representative from Mount Vernon, seeking the 58th Senate District seat.

Among those receiving RPAC support for state House races are incumbents:

  • Rep. Aaron Ortiz, D-Chicago,  Dist. 1
  • Rep. Theresa Mah, D-Chicago, Dist. 2
  • Rep. Mary Flowers, D-Chicago, Dist. 31
  • Rep. Jaime Andrade Jr., D-Chicago, Dist. 40
  • Rep. Rita Mayfield, D-Waukegan, Dist. 60
  • Rep. Allen Skillicorn, R-Crystal Lake, Dist. 66
  • Rep. Barbara Hernandez, D-Aurora, Dist. 83
  • Rep. Avery Bourne, R-Litchfield, Dist. 95
  • Rep. Dan Brady, R-Normal, Dist. 105
  • Rep. Dave Severin, R-Marion, Dist. 117

Additionally, some candidates who are not incumbents but who are seeking House seats and are receiving RPAC support are:

  • Tim Ozinga, Republican from Bolingbrook, seeking the 37th House District seat.
  • Andy Hires, a Republican from Olney, seeking the House District 109 seat.
  • Clifford Lindmann, a Republican from Bluford, seeking the House District 115 seat.
