Nester Realty in Swansea showed its community support a few weeks ago with a clothing donation to the Airman’s Attic at Scott Air Force Base in St. Clair County.

REALTOR® Claire Nester Leopold made the donation of new socks and T-shirts on behalf of the brokerage. The Airman’s Attic provides free clothing, food, furniture and children’s toys to junior enlisted airmen and their families. The facility, located on Scott Air Force Base, relies on donations and is staffed by volunteers.

“I heard about the Airman’s Attic years ago,” says Leopold. “My husband (Mike Leopold) serves on the Belleville Chamber of Commerce’s Belle-Scott Committee and they have donated items to the Airman’s Attic in the past. One year our kids (James and Kathryn) went with him to help pick up new or gently used furniture that was being donated.

“This year, Nester Realty donated several boxes of clothing,” Leopold said. “Veteran’s United Home Loans provided a collection point as they were making donations that day, too.”

Nester Realty has offices in Swansea, O’Fallon, Columbia and Edwardsville. REALTORS® there are members of the REALTOR® Association of Southwestern Illinois and the Greater Gateway Association of REALTORS® .
