10. At the bell: House, Senate pass BPO changes to state acts – In this May 31 blog post, license law changes protect the ability of REALTORS® to offer Broker Price Opinions.

9. Springfield family moves into REALTOR®-built Habitat home – IAR members build Habitat for Humanity homes in Springfield, Aurora and Murphysboro. This story is indicative of the volunteer efforts in several locations.

8. Illinois REALTORS® meet with U.S. Sens. Durbin and Kirk – This May 14 story represents a series of “Let’s Talk Real Estate” events held throughout the year when Illinois REALTORS® met elected officials. Other featured officials included U.S. Reps. Luis V. Gutierrez, John Shimkus, Cheri Bustos, Peter Roskam, Robin Kelly, Randy Hultgren, Jan Schakowsky, Dan Lipinski and Aaron Schock.

7. Quinn, Rauner to address REALTORS® at Fall Conference & Expo – While on the campaign trail, Governor Pat Quinn and Bruce Rauner appeared at the IAR Fall Conference on Sept. 5 and 6, respectively.

6. Fire marshal pledges to work collaboratively on fire safety issue – In a May 30 blog post, Illinois Fire Marshal Larry Matkaitis pledges to work with local officials and all stakeholders with regard to new sprinkler laws.
