Former Illinois REALTORS® President Leo J. Sheridan, Jr., passed away Friday. He was 87.

Sheridan was president of the state association in 1982 and the association’s 1983 Illinois REALTOR® of the Year. He served numerous terms on its Board of Directors and remained involved with Illinois REALTORS® during the last nine years as a member of its Advisory Council.

Sheridan served on the board of the National Association of REALTORS® and many of its committees from 1979 through 1992. He served as the 1974-75 president of the Chicago Association of REALTORS® and was the organization’s 1990 REALTOR® of the Year.

Sheridan is survived by his wife, Olive “Honey” (Fox) Sheridan, five children, 14 grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Sat., Nov. 5, at St. Joseph Church in Wilmette. A funeral mass will follow at 11 a.m., also at the church.
