Illinois REALTORS® recognizes that the real estate industry crosses international borders. That’s why the association’s Global Business Council works to provide training and expertise to those interested in cross-border investment. The Global Business Council was established in 2015, and was an outgrowth of years of work to expand knowledge of international real estate opportunities.
REALTORS® doing business across borders
Members of the Illinois REALTORS® are involved in transactions that cut across many boundaries. Association members have a strong commitment to sharing and learning about other cultures in addition to encouraging organizational leadership opportunities that reflect the diversity of the membership. In 2015, the association signed a partnership with La Associacion Mexicana de Profesionales Inmobiliarios.
Each year the Global Business Council makes recommendations on how to better position REALTORS® to thrive in an international economy. The group works with real estate organizations and a diverse membership to help members understand global is the new local.
Illinois REALTORS® take part in MIPIM, one of the largest international real estate conferences. The event, held in Cannes, France, allowed members to market the state to a global audience.
