The 30-Hour Managing Broker Pre-License Topics course is a mandatory component of Illinois managing broker pre-license education. The online course is self-guided course with section reviews to show student participation and proficiency. You must score at least 75% or better on section reviews to complete the course. Candidates must also complete the 15-hour Managing Broker Pre-License Applied Management & Supervision interactive course. (Note: 15-hour Managing Broker Pre-License webinar and classroom dates are extremely limited. If not listed in the store or on the classroom calendar, no classes are currently scheduled.)

Course Materials & Delivery

The 30-hour Managing Broker Pre-License Topics Online course materials and reviews are hosted on the Eastern Illinois University Desire 2 Learn (D2L) course platform

  • Participants work through seven sections and the correlating reviews
  • An individual username and password created for each participant
    • You will receive a separate email from EIU,, including your login credentials & expiration date for the course materials. This email is automated from EIU every 30-45 minutes, 24 hours a day.

Course Expiration

Courses expire 180 days from the date of purchase. Students requiring longer than 180 days, but less than one year from the date of purchase are eligible to purchase an extension at the cost of $100. The extension period shall not exceed 90 days and may not be extended past one year from the original date of purchase. Contact or all extension requests.

Managing Broker Pre-License transcripts are valid for four years.

Managing Broker Licensing Requirements

Individuals interested in obtaining an Illinois Managing Broker license must have held an active broker license for two of the previous three years and must complete the 45 hours of mandatory managing broker pre-license education.

To qualify for a Managing Broker license in Illinois you must be at least 21 years old, have an active, valid Illinois real estate broker license, had an active real estate license for two (2) of the past three (3) years, successfully complete the required coursework and pass the State & National licensing exam.
