IAR members work on a Habitat for Humanity home being built in Springfield. The association has completed one home in Murphysboro, and is starting a third in Aurora late next week.

High winds and heavy rain that moved through Chicagoland earlier this week have delayed foundation work for the IAR Habitat for Humanity project. As a result, several volunteer work days have been cancelled and several new work days have been added to the schedule.

What this means: If you are among those scheduled to work July 7-11, you will need to re-register for an available day. You can do that here. The form also has information on what work will be done on what day.

If you are signed up for a date that is not affected, be aware that the work assignments may change and there may be further date changes as we work to accommodate the weather delays.

What’s changed:

  • Work days on July 7-11 are cancelled.
  • There will be a work day (with a limit of 10 people) on Saturday, July 12.
  • Work will continue Sunday, July 13-Friday, July 18. We can have up to 20 people each day. For those rescheduling, available dates are July July 12, 13,  15, 17 or 18.

Again, please go here to reschedule if you are among those signed up for the first week of work. We really want to have you as part of this important effort to show the Power of R.
