Teresa RyanAs a real estate brokerage owner, I attend several conventions nationwide and, of course, walk away with a lot of value from each experience. It’s my job to keep my finger on the pulse of the latest developments and challenges our industry faces. The IAR Convention more than delivered on its purpose to educate, inform and exhibit – giving us several future options through its panel of industry experts.

Since the convention was based in St. Charles, it proved exceptional to Illinois REALTORS® seeking leverage in today’s economic conditions. As I made my way through the real estate expo each day, I could sense the atmosphere thick with excitement, professionalism and fun. There were a variety of exhibitors, over 100 in fact – all there to enhance our industry offerings. I was in my element. My company, Ryan Hill Realty, had an impressive attendance at our booth. Likewise, every session, booth and event were very well attended by agents and people in or connected to the real estate industry.

Continuing Education Session: Agency, License Law & Escrow 2.0, by IAR Legal Hotline Attorney Betsy Urbance
Betsy covered key topics such as changes in license law, requirements, compensation, escrow and a plethora of legal eagle information! The 3-hour session flew by quickly as she kept it entertaining with her slideshow and excellent examples.

Credit Repair 101 by JoAnn Sworan
Our buyers look to us for insight and guidance when preparing for a home purchase. Helping them properly navigate through their loans is a key factor in our sales process. Lynn presented concise guides on how to prepare buyers before they meet with their loan officer, credit rating improvement tips and credit solutions.

25 Marketing Ideas: Down and Dirty by Chuck Bode

Being able to walk away with viable solutions – from learning about trends and getting to know about new technological advances, to networking – is what the IAR Convention is all about. I was very pleased to hear ‘the buzz’ around town that the event was a huge success and perfect for today’s market.  I am looking forward to seeing a lot more in the future!
